Her Own Compass aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA so every reader — including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or magnification — can use this site comfortably.

What we do

• Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure on every page.
• Descriptive alt text on informative images.
• Color contrast that meets AA ratios for body text and buttons.
• Keyboard-accessible navigation, forms, and the Travel Fund Calculator.
• Readable font sizes (17px+ body) and layouts that respond to zoom up to 200%.

Known limitations

Some third-party embeds (email signup forms, advertising) are controlled by their providers and may not fully meet AA. We choose providers with accessibility support where possible and pass issues to them when reported.
